Design

The Care Passport is designed to be readily identifiable by both the support worker and the Passport owner and is written in an informal style.

It is designed to give the vulnerable person a “voice”.

Through the pages of the passport they share with you their critical needs and a little of what makes life interesting and enjoyable for them.

Reasons for this design.

An A5 format is the most suitable as an A4 format (the size of a normal sheet of paper or a magazine) would have to be folded to fit in a bag and an A6 format (about the size of a normal passport) is too small and easily lost.

All the pages are laminated to give strength and durability.

Comb binding is the most suitable way of keeping the pages securely together as it allows the Passport to be opened easily and to remain open at the page needed. Individual pages can be easily replaced if they need updating or become damaged.

This design is very cost effective as all the equipment and materials required to make the passports are readily available.
